Tim and Lauren’s Love Story
Tim and I are actually both in law enforcement. We work at the same police department and met 3 years ago through mutual friends (the stereotypical work couple 😅). We dont really make the law enforcement thing a huge part of our relationship but with our hectic schedules and responsibilities it’s inevitably a huge part of our life. I am currently a detective and he is a community service officer. Both positions with the craziest work schedule. The funny part is we have never actually worked directly with each other.
We hung out with mutual friends a few times as a group and became inseparable pretty quickly. I met the little ones early on (Elijah “Eli” is 5 and Jordyn “Jojo” is 3). I honestly always thought marriage just wasn’t for me and with him being married once before it just wasn’t something I was concerned with. But tim the kids and I became my instant family. We moved in together almost 2 years ago and it’s just been adventure after adventure since.
We love traveling and getting outdoors. Our first vacation together was actually to the smoky mountains but in gatlinburg. We’ve been to different parts of the smokys and the blue ridge mountains several times since then.
Let’s see what else… Tim is the funny one always keeping me laughing and trying to get me to take life less serious. I’m the stubborn one who always has to have a plan. Our engagement story kind of says it all. Tim originally had the whole night planned out and had me pick the place we were going to eat so I wouldn’t suspect anything (it’s really hard to surprise me). We were getting ready to go and I got called in to work. Me thinking this was just a normal date night asked for a rain check. It had been a really crazy month for us, he didn’t want to wait any more and also knew I don’t like a huge show of things anyways. So as I’m getting ready for work and making phone calls this man started stretching in our living room down on one knee (he has bad knees). I get off the phone and he asks me to help him up (I’m thinking his knees are bothering him) I started making fun of him being an old man and reach out to help him up but he had the ring in his hand. I could not stop laughing and happy crying!
Basically we just balance each other four in every way and without realizing it he had changed my mind about marriage and I can’t imagine my life without him. And of course we had to come back to the mountains to tie the knot!
