This love story starts out with a conundrum: when did they actually first meet each other?

Kaity and Drew are both active-duty US Navy. Drew remembers a cute girl he met when he went onto her ship to discuss adjusting watches. She had a cute smile and pretty eyes, and she was completely uninterested in “helping” him out. He recalls that she pretty much said “no and go away.” But, she said it in a subtle way that he has come to love.

Kaity, on the other hand, can’t remember any of this interaction. She insists their first meeting was at a beach gathering. The two met up with others for some friendly beach volleyball. For anyone who knows Kaity, friendly didn’t last long. She began bossing others around on positioning and became quite competitive. Ultimately, that’s another trait Drew has come to love and admire.
