Alicia and Chris
Chris and Alicia met over 25 years ago in Bitburg, Germany while they were both serving in the U.S Air Force. After dating briefly, the military took them on different paths and they lost touch.
Over the next two decades Alicia thought about Chris often, but was unable to locate him. As Social Media became mainstream, Alicia would periodically input his name into various search engines, but with such a popular name she was unable to locate him. Then one day back in October of 2016, she was going through some old photographs and came upon a picture that Chris had sent her while he was deployed in the Middle East supporting Operation Desert Storm. The top of the picture he had written in very, very neat handwriting, “Christopher M. Brown”.
With low expectations, Alicia immediately grabbed her phone and typed Christopher M Brown into the people search bar in Facebook. First picture, 12 year old boy in South Dakota; second picture, 32 year old man in Delaware; the third picture was a guy in a cowboy hat, right age, and from Ohio. Alicia stared at the picture trying to decide if this was truly the Chris Brown she had been looking for.
The brim of the hat cast a shadow over the upper part of his face, but after a few moments she was pretty sure she had found him and she instantly sent him a message, “Are you the Chris Brown that was in the Air Force and stationed in Germany back in the late 80’s?”
It was him!!! They continued to message each other and within a few days they were having conversations over the phone. Chris said that he was going to be in Southern Virginia attending a NASCAR race over Halloween, which was only a few days away. He invited her to meet him down there and she took him up on it.
Although Chris resided in Ohio and Alicia in Virginia, they immediately started scheduling trips on the weekends to see each other. In October of 2017, Christopher got down on one knee at the Air Force Memorial in Washington D.C.
In October of 2018, Chris and Alicia got married in Nantahala.
