Gue and Jordan - May 2017
When Gue and Jordan came to see our venue, they brought a tape measure and pads of paper to sketch out the wedding reception design of a lifetime. Gue envisioned the hills and trees illuminated by lights, with more lights strung across the entire space of the reception area. She envisioned a completely unencumbered natural space with no tent.
The weather is usually hard to judge in Nantahala, and the week leading up to the wedding was no different. But Saturday turned out to be a gorgeous day, and the tent came down.
Gue and Jordan got married on the south end of Wayah Bald in a circle of boulders with their family and friends surrounding them, sitting on blankets and boulders, with a backdrop of the Nantahala mountain range. Just as they had imagined it.
Everyone came back to the venue where a feast and Gue’s stupendously designed reception awaited them. When you love nature, you can’t exclude rain, and it did rain after dinner and toasts. Gue and Jordan and their family friends danced in the rain until after midnight. Love and laughter, and beautiful photos to commemorate the experience.
