Things to Know Before Your Tour
Duration and what you’ll see: Our group tour begins at 1:30 p.m. and typically wraps up between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m. We’ll explore the entire venue together, including the parking areas, reception pavilion, caterer’s kitchen, decoration room, ceremony spaces, all of our lodging and a few other special spots. There will also browse photo albums for inspiration.
Who is welcome: Bring your people! Family members, your people of honor, children, dogs, everyone is welcome. Many couples turn their tour into a mountain weekend getaway, and we love welcoming the whole crew. Just let us know who to expect!
Good to know: Wear comfortable walking shoes so you can enjoy exploring the property. Bathrooms are just up the footpath from the reception area.
Where to park and meet: Please park in the semicircular gravel lot by the chalkboard and shuttle stop, then follow the path up to the reception area, where we will begin our tour. If you arrive early, we will have photo albums ready for you to browse while you settle in and other couples arrive. But if you want to spend a few minutes by the lake, we recommend checking out Rocky Branch Boat launch right across the street from us (10 second drive).
Latitude and Longitude of Chapel in the Sky and our venue.
- If you’re coming from the east (Asheville), take the route through Bryson City rather than Franklin – even if your GPS tells you otherwise. It is a less curvy drive; more rivers, less switchbacks.
- If you’re coming from the South (Atlanta), take the route through Murphy rather than Franklin for the same reason.
- If you’re coming from the west, try to avoid the Tail of the Dragon.
- If you do decide to drive through Franklin, it is a very sweet small town worth visiting, here are some of a list of Franklin favorites.
