From CrossFit to the Mountains: Jenni + Austin’s Nantahala Wedding Weekend
A South Florida couple traded the noise of the city for an unhurried mountain wedding, an unforgettable celebration in nature, and the adventure of a lifetime in their wedding clothes.
Some love stories begin with a dating app or an introduction from a friend. Jenni + Austin’s began across a CrossFit gym.
Jenni remembers seeing Austin from the other side of the gym and simply knowing there was something special about him. Fittingly, Austin later proposed at a CrossFit competition they attend every year—bringing their story full circle in the place that first brought them together.
Their shared love of adventure extends far beyond the gym. Whether they are working out, hunting, fishing, traveling, watching movies on their DVD player, or simply spending time outside, Jenni + Austin are happiest doing life together.
Trading South Florida for the Mountains
Coming from a packed city in South Florida, they wanted their wedding to feel entirely different: peaceful, natural, and surrounded by beauty.
“The pure beauty of nature here is unmatched,” they shared. “The only thing you hear is nature, the only thing you see is nature, and the only thing you smell is nature.”
Nantahala Weddings checked every box—from the mountain setting and onsite accommodations to the included amenities and trusted vendor recommendations. The clear planning information and support helped ease their minds from the beginning, allowing them to look forward to the experience instead of feeling overwhelmed by it.
A Wedding Weekend Without the Rush
The biggest surprise for Jenni + Austin was just how relaxed a full wedding weekend could feel.
“There was no rush and no stress!”
Rather than trying to fit every meaningful moment into a few short hours, they had time to settle in, enjoy the property, and celebrate with the people they love. Their guests are still talking about the views, the food, the DJ—and how incredible the entire wedding was.
For Jenni + Austin, the experience was even better than they had imagined: clean and comfortable accommodations, welcoming staff, beautiful surroundings, and a wedding weekend that simply worked.
Taking on the Wedding Dress Challenge
As memorable as the wedding itself was, one experience stood out: completing the Adventure Wedding Dress Challenge together.
The challenge gave this already adventurous couple another way to celebrate who they are. More importantly, it became a shared experience that strengthened their bond.
“It brought us closer—and we didn’t think that was possible!”
For two people who love movement, nature, and tackling life side by side, it was the perfect addition to their Nantahala wedding chapter.
Their Advice to Future Couples
Jenni + Austin’s advice is simple: do not let the little things steal your joy.
“Focus on what’s important—the love around you and how much fun your wedding day is going to be.”
And when it comes to choosing Nantahala Weddings?
“Trust us when we tell you: just book it. You won’t be sorry.”
They describe their time here as a kind of magic that is difficult to explain but impossible to forget—an experience they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. In 30 or 40 years, they picture themselves living in North Carolina, still enjoying the outdoors and doing what they love together.
We hope the mountains call them home. ❤️
