Adventure, Love, and Lake Days: Carly & Logan’s Lake Nantahala Wedding

A laid-back destination wedding weekend at Nantahala Weddings & Events in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Carly and Logan first met at a going-away party for a mutual friend, where they spent the night talking and playing Bop-It—a fitting beginning to a relationship built on fun and connection. In the early days, they lived over an hour apart, but Logan made the drive every weekend to watch Carly perform at local breweries. He says that’s when he first realized he was in love. For Carly, it came soon after, somewhere between ski trips, chairlift shooters, and the way Logan always showed up.

Over the years, they grew together through college graduations, a cross-country move, career changes, buying their first home, and adding another fur baby to the crew. Logan taught Carly the power of patience and calm, while Carly taught Logan to slow down and appreciate the beauty around him. Through every season, they’ve continued choosing adventure, each other, and the belief that the best is still ahead.

Their wedding at Nantahala Weddings & Events brought all of that together in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Guests traveled from eight different states to celebrate, and booking the venue for the full weekend gave everyone time to settle in, swim in Lake Nantahala, share long conversations, and enjoy the mountains before the wedding day even began.

For couples planning a North Carolina mountain wedding, Carly and Logan have two pieces of advice: book the whole weekend and book a shuttle. Having Thursday and Friday together turned their celebration into a true destination wedding vacation, while Connor Long’s shuttle service made getting everyone home safely at the end of the night easy.

Their vendor team completed the weekend beautifully. Photographer Hunter Kittrell and videographer Justin Clark captured the day while helping everything run smoothly, and Flat Rock Village Bakery served an artisan pizza buffet guests couldn’t stop talking about. The result was a relaxed, joy-filled Lake Nantahala wedding weekend filled with adventure, good food, mountain views, and plenty of time together.
