Mallory and Patrick - August 2016

A wedding, southern style in the mountains
Mallory had a vision for her wedding. She wanted it to be in Nantahala because she met Patrick working on the river, and she grew up spending family vacations in Nantahala. They felt a passion for the place and wanted to share it with all of their friends and family. Mallory wanted it to be large enough to accommodate all of her guests, yet intimate enough to keep everyone mingling and enjoying each other’s company. She wanted her wedding to be beautiful and unique, yet simple. She dreamed of an outdoor dance floor with lights strung across it, river rafts used as coolers, and enough food and drinks that everyone would go home full and happy.

Mallory’s mother told me, “It took a lot of people to raise Mallory.” And they all showed up to make Mallory’s wedding the event of their collective little girl’s dreams. Southern women are known to be strong, mentally and physically. And the entourage that emerged to set up Mallory’s wedding did not disappoint. They came all the way from Folkston, Georgia with a trailer full of props and decorations– columns, mirrors, a boat load of flowers, and even a very exceptional pink velvet sofa. They also brought cooking equipment and all the fixins’ for low country boil.
